Which Events These Terms Cover

These Terms cover events Bond AI hosts or organizes itself. Most events on our calendars and in our newsletters are run by independent organizers, including events where Bond AI is listed as a co-host to help distribute them. Those are governed by the organizer's own terms and by our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, whose Co-Hosted Events sections explain what co-hosting involves. If you are not sure which kind of event you are looking at, check the host on the event page or ask us.

Registration

Registration is subject to availability and to our approval, and we may decline, limit, or cancel a registration at any time. Please give accurate information and pay any fee that applies. Your spot is personal to you. We may change any aspect of a Bond Event at any time.

Participation

To take part in a Bond Event, follow the Event Code of Conduct, which is part of these Terms, and follow reasonable instructions from our team, volunteers, and venue staff.

Venue Security and Safety

Venues have their own entry requirements. If you do not meet them, you may be refused entry.

We, our event representatives, or the venue may ask anyone to leave a Bond Event at any time, including if your behavior puts anyone at the event at risk, or if you breach these Terms or the Event Code of Conduct.

If you are refused entry or asked to leave, you will not receive a refund of any fees you paid. You agree to follow the venue's rules.

Promotion at Events

Sponsors make many Bond Events possible. Only sponsors and people with our prior permission may publicly promote a product, service, or job opening at a Bond Event, including handing out materials or setting up a display.

This does not limit ordinary conversation. Telling the people you meet what you are building is what these events are for.

Your Information

We handle the information you give us when you register for or attend a Bond Event in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may use it, and share it as needed, to run the event and to keep you in touch with Bond AI and with the sponsors and partners behind our events. They may use your contact details under their own privacy policies.

Photographs and Recordings

By attending a Bond Event, you agree that Bond AI, event sponsors, and our partners may photograph, film, record, and otherwise capture your image, likeness, and voice in any media ("Photos and Recordings").

You irrevocably authorize Bond AI, event sponsors, and our partners to use the Photos and Recordings in any media, for any purpose related to our or a sponsor's business, without payment to you or further approval from you.

If you take photos or recordings at a Bond Event and share them with us, you give us the same rights to use them, and you confirm that the people who appear in them have agreed to that use.

Cancellation

If You Cancel:

If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration on the event page so your spot can go to someone else. If you paid a fee, email us and we will sort it out.

If We Cancel:

We may cancel or change all or part of a Bond Event at any time, and we will let you know as soon as we can. We cannot cover costs you have already taken on. Any refund is at our discretion.

Risk, Liability, and Indemnification

Assumption of Risk:

Attending and participating in a Bond Event is entirely voluntary. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you knowingly and voluntarily assume the risks of attending.

Release of Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you, and anyone making a claim on your behalf, release, waive, and discharge Bond AI and our affiliates, partners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, volunteers, agents, successors, and assigns (the "Bond AI Parties") from any and all claims, demands, damages, or expenses ("Claims") related to a Bond Event or to the Photos and Recordings.

You expressly acknowledge and waive any rights you may have under Section 1542 of the California Civil Code, and any similar law, relating to claims that are unknown to you at the time of this release.

Limitation of Liability:

Our maximum total liability in connection with these Terms, a Bond Event, or the Photos and Recordings will not exceed the greater of $100 and the registration fees you paid to Bond AI for that event, if any. We are not liable for consequential, punitive, or incidental damages of any kind, whatever the type of claim. These limits apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnity:

If something you do at a Bond Event leads to a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover it.

General

• Changes. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page. By attending a Bond Event, you agree to the version in effect at that time.
• Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
• Severability and waiver. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remain enforceable. If we do not enforce a right, that is not a waiver of it.
• Events beyond our control. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
• Survival. The parts of these Terms that are meant to survive remain in effect after a Bond Event ends or is canceled.
• Entire agreement. These Terms, the Event Code of Conduct, and the policies they reference are the entire agreement between you and Bond AI about your participation in Bond Events.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to everyone at a Bond Event, whether you are attending, speaking, judging, sponsoring, or helping run it, in every setting connected to the event.

Expected Behavior

Everyone at a Bond Event is expected to:

• Be considerate of other participants and help keep the environment positive
• Encourage others to participate and respect people whose viewpoints differ from their own
• Comply with all applicable laws and with the rules, policies, and guidelines of the event and its venue

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

• Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
• Verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, sponsor, organizer, or other participant
• Offensive comments about a person's gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neurotype, physical appearance, body size, age, race, nationality, or religion
• Inappropriate use of nudity or sexual images or comments in public spaces or presentations
• Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
• Sustained disruption of talks or other sessions
• Unwelcome sexual attention
• Advocating for or encouraging any of the above

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop is expected to comply immediately. If someone engages in unacceptable behavior, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including a warning, removal from the event without refund, a ban from future Bond Events and from the Bond AI community, and notifying the authorities.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior

If you experience unacceptable behavior, see it happening to someone else, or have any other concern, please tell a Bond AI team member or volunteer at the event as soon as possible. You can also report an incident through our contact page or at contact at bondcommunity dot ai
